Atty. Maria Luisa Dominique D. Mauricio is a State Solicitor I at the Office of the Solicitor General.
She finished Speech Communication Magna cum laude in 2011 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman, where she also obtained her Juris Doctor degree in 2015.
She obtained her Master of Laws at Columbia Law School in 2019 wherein she was a recipient of the Parker School Recognition of Achievement in International and Comparative Law and took part in an endeavor to revise the U.S. Restatement of International Commercial & Investor-State Arbitration.
She is qualified to practice law both in the Philippines and New York. She has experience in domestic and international investment, commercial, and administrative alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in different capacities while in the OSG. She has experience in managing and arbitrating disputes involving government contracts, oil and gas, mining, and tax assessment, among others. She is a member of the Philippine delegation of the UNCITRAL Working Group II on Dispute Settlements and Working Group III on Investor State Dispute Settlement. She is currently an International Chamber of Commerce Youth Arbitration Forum Representative for South Asia.
She has been published in the Philippine Alternative Dispute Resolution Review on Investment Arbitration in the Philippines and the International Council for Commercial Arbitration’s Right to a Physical Hearing Project. While in New York, she wrote about Emergency Arbitration and contributed in the Review of Investor State Dispute Settlement Reforms in Indonesia. She is also currently associate editor of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators Journal.
She teaches Commercial and Procedural Law subjects in the Centro Escolar University School of Law, the Ateneo de Manila School of Law, and the University of the Philippines College of Law BGC. She has been MCLE lecturer on ADR for the IP Academy of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines RSM Chapter.
She is an accredited arbitrator of the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution, the assistant deputy secretary general for case management of the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution, a fellow member of the Philippine Arbitration Center in Visayas, the assistant vice president for legislative agenda of the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators, a co-chairman of the Young Philippine Institute of Arbitrations, a member of the Rules Revision Committee, a file counsel, tribunal secretary, and currently the youngest accredited arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center.
