Our LECTURERS

Atty. Aristotle O. Valera is a law professor, book author, the founding President of the Philippine Association of Fintech Lawyers (PAFLA) and a member of the International Technology Law Association (ITECHLAW).
Atty. Aris, as he is fondly called, obtained his degree of BS Biology at the University of Santo Tomas in 1998. Instead of taking up medicine, he was persuaded to take a different path and took his law studies at San Beda College, Mendiola, while working as a paralegal and office staff, and later in Philippine Law School in his last year, where he graduated in 2003.
He served as a political staff officer of then senator and presidential aspirant Raul S. Roco in 2004 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in the same year.
Currently, Atty. Aris teaches law subjects as a part-time lecturer at the University of Asia and Pacific (UA&P) School of Law and Governance, University of Makati School of Law and Emilio Aguinaldo College-Cavite. He is also a Senior Partner of Caluya Valera Montero Balitaan Law Offices, a full-service law firm in Makati City and serves as legal consultant of the Public Recreation Bureau of the City of Manila.

He authored and published two books “Understanding the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Law: Notes and Cases” (2021 Edition) and “Understanding the Katurungang Pambarangay Law: Notes and Cases” (2021 Edition). Currently, he is working on his upcoming book that deals with Digital Assets.

Atty. Aris also holds a master’s degree in political economy from the University of Asia and Pacific where he graduated with academic distinction. He is currently in the process of completing his Master of Laws degree from San Beda University Graduate School of Law and is currently enrolled with the Catholiqué Universite of Lyon (UCLy), Faculté de Droit, Master of Laws (LLM) in Digital and Technology Law programme.
